What is your “dream” wedding menu?
My dream wedding menu would definitely be a package to include the reception, dinner, dessert and bar with the flexibility to customize menu offerings. A package in my experience and opinion helps ease the planning process.
What is one thing that most couples forget when planning their wedding?
The small details that make a big impact. I always encourage couples to have their large to-do items checked off their list one-two months out from their wedding so that leading up to their big day the small details can be the primary focus and allow for some time to be spent enjoying the weeks leading up to the big day.
What is one of your favorite places to show people when looking at Kimpton The Forum Hotel?
The Camellia Promenade area, this outdoor space overlooks the botanical gardens on Darden campus and is the perfect area for a scenic ceremony or cocktail hour that will truly make a couples wedding day dreams come to life.
Favorite Hors D’oeuvre on the menu?
Definitely the Tuna Tartar Canapé, I am a huge fan of anything seafood and especially a fan of Hors D’oeuvres that are served room-temperature or cool.
How do you approach the planning of weddings?
Understanding the bride and grooms vision is key. I like to get to know the couples and truly understand what it is they are looking for. I am a firm believer that all details big or small matter and will do everything I can to ensure the couple has the wedding they’ve been dreaming of.
What is a touch that you could add to weddings that is not expensive?
Adding an advice and wishes box is a great touch to any wedding, I love this because it’s a keepsake for the bride and groom to look back on after their big day.
Must have photo-op around the Hotel?
My top two photo-ops would have to be the botanical gardens or the brick staircase coming down to the terrace level. Both are breathtaking and would make for a beautiful backdrop whether it’s engagement photos, wedding day photos, or guest photos at the wedding!
Advice for couple post big day?
Take some time to enjoy each other’s company and relax, wedding planning can be stressful. Once it’s all said and done, allow yourselves that time to just be in each other’s presence and celebrate the commitment you’ve just made to one another. You deserve it!
